Aryan Gurwara Hero Background

Aryan Gurwara

A minimalist, research-driven approach to building a healthier body and mind. I've built my physique, overcome injuries, studied the science, analyzed nutrition and recovery protocols, and designed daily routines for health and wellbeing- now I want to help others do the same.

About Me

I am a third-year psychology student at University of British Columbia. I have been passionate about health and fitness for the past five years and have completely transformed my physique using a highly effective combination of basic bodyweight movements (like push-up and pull-up variations) and gym-based resistance training, along with strategic recovery protocols.

I have a solid foundation in exercise programming, recovery strategies, and postural assessment. Having achieved my dream physique through consistent progression on key exercises, I am confident in my ability to optimize training for results. Additionally, I am also certified by the National Academy of Sport and Medicine (NASM)

I firmly believe that simple, minimalist exercise programs can produce significant changes in body composition, and that consistency is the most important factor in a successful transformation.

Furthermore, my educational background in psychology provides me with a unique perspective on the effects of exercise on mental health, client motivation, and habit formation.

My Training Philosophy

Over the years, as I progressed in my fitness journey, I developed a highly refined training philosophy. I believe that consistently gaining strength on key lifts is the most effective way to build muscle and create visible physical changes.

High Intensity, Low Volume

I utilize a low-volume, high-intensity approach focused on long-term progression. This maximizes strength gains and muscular development while minimizing unnecessary fatigue.

Efficiency

My workout sessions are short and efficient, typically lasting 45 minutes to an hour. I emphasize quality of movement and execution over excessive volume.

Growth Stimulus

Achieving a high level of strength and endurance, combined with a nutritious, high-protein diet, creates a powerful stimulus for growth.

My Transformation

My body transformation primarily utilized an approach known as “body recomposition,” which involves building muscle and losing fat simultaneously.

"While most people focus on either gaining weight (bulking) or losing weight (cutting), it is possible to achieve both at the same time when training, nutrition, and recovery are managed intelligently."

By maintaining a slight calorie deficit, prioritizing high protein intake, and gradually progressing my training and activity levels, I achieved steady, long-term fat loss while continuing to gain strength and muscle mass.

Furthermore, by prioritizing muscle groups that contribute to a wide, V-taper physique—such as the shoulders and lats—I was able to create a more athletic and balanced appearance.
